For years, Joyce Meyer has released numerous books to help women in every aspect of struggles that they face, and now she offers an assistance in confidence with her book The Confident Woman. Whenever gender comparisons are made, we are aware that women are more insecure compared to men. We all know how our society works – the men being the stronger sex and the women being the weaker. Even though this “rule” has been set aside for a long time now since the modern way of things have proven equality between men and women, a lot of females are still eaten by self-doubt. Why do you believe is that?
The Confident Woman is constructed in an easy-to-comprehend form that is applicable for women of all ages. And just like all other works by Meyer, this is very religiously-rooted. The book opens with a story that we have long been familiar of, Adam and Eve. Meyer states that both men and women are equal, and that they were designed to complement each other not repel each other. All throughout the book, Meyer picks out passages from the Bible and applies them to the common “Man vs. Woman” mindset that we all have now.
But, The Confident Women does not talk about the differences of men and women alone, but it also tackles the pressures coming from the same gender. The book gives a thorough trip to the different moments in the past, showing readers the exact things on various times that caused the modern day women to have insecurities. The book also states the misconceptions that we have carried to our lives now, such as a woman should be quiet and pleasing at all times. But what’s disappointing is that a lot of women are actually living up to follow these rules.
Also, Meyer discusses about fear and how it is the main influence that pushes women to bow down to the unnecessary rules of society. And she also talks about the only weapon that women can use to win against their fears, a strong belief in God. This is because above all things, the only way that people can really find confidence in themselves is through having confidence in God.
In conclusion, Joyce Meyer once more proves that she is indeed an accomplished writer. Her clear elaboration of the seven characteristics that define a confident woman makes it very easy for any girl, lady, and woman to really realize their true potential. A lot of the matters we consider lightly in life are not really as light, because they some of them eventually become the reasons as to why women are not that confident. The Confident Woman’s message is very forward, it is not completely original, but any woman will surely learn to find security in her self.
